A photographer in Bangladesh has captured photographs of a daring and heartwarming rescue hero that risks his life to save a drowning baby deer. He will restore your faith in humanity. When a baby deer was separate from its family by a flooded river in Noakhali, Bangladesh, its chances for survival were slim. But Belal, a local boy believed to be in his early teens, braved the rainwater-swollen river to reunite the fawn with its family. As the photos show, the swift river waters were at times above the boy’s head – all that was visible was his hand skillfully holding the baby deer by all four legs. U.S Customs and Border Protection agents have seized 42 pounds of horse meat, including 13 pounds of horse genitals, from two women arriving from Mongolia at Dulles International Airport in Virginia. According to CBP, hidden horse meat is prohibited from entering the U.S. without an official certification due to fears of foot-and-mouth disease. Mongolian horse meat is always prohibited because of concerns about diseases. The incident happened in late January, officials, said when two women arrived at the airport from Mongolia. One of them said she had food in her bags and after a check officials found 42 pounds of meat, which she described as horse-meat and other “ruminant meat” in her belongings. Director of Taiwanese animal shelter commits suicide after 'feeling distraught about having to euthanize too many dogs. A veterinary doctor and director of an animal shelter in Taiwan has reportedly committed suicide after she became distraught with the number of dogs she was having to euthanize. Jian Zhicheng was the director of the Xinwu Animal Protection and Education Center looking after animals at the shelter, the People's Daily Online reports.
