Why Dogs Love Snow? We Asked Experts The Burning Question. Dogs love snow. So, in the wake of the Polar Vortex and blizzard season, we asked experts the burning question: why do dogs love snow so much? (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Stanley Coren, a scientist and Professor of Psychology at the University of British Columbia and expert in canine psychology, said that many dogs love snow in the way that a toddler loves snow -- it’s simply fun to play with.   (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); “Dogs like to manipulate their environment,” Coren said. “They will play in pile of leaves, just like the way kids do -- the mind of a dog is very much like that of a two-year-old.” Snow, Coren said, provides dogs

Hilarious Husky Doesn’t Want To Walk, Gets A Piggyback Ride From Owner.

Most dogs love hearing that magical four letter word: “walk.” My pup goes into a frenzy anytime she hears something that even just sounds sort of like it! I think it might even make her happier than hearing the word “treat.” Any chance she gets to stretch her little legs, she’s a happy camper. One day, we decided to test how far she could last on a longer journey to the park a few blocks away. She made it there fine and enjoyed skipping around with her dog buddies, but about halfway down the road home, she decided she had enough and stopped right in her tracks. Luckily, she’s a pretty small breed, so we didn’t have too much trouble carrying her the rest of the way home. This cutie, however, is a bit more cumbersome when he wants to take a break from strolling down the sidewalk with h

Rescuers at Seal Beach Animal Care Center found a beautiful Husky with bloody ears and a cropped tail, which was likely cropped to avoid it from catching on the cage that had been his home for his entire life. How do they know he lived his life in a cage? Because his microchip was registered to one of the most notorious animal testing facilities in the country. He was abandoned after he no longer served a purpose to them. The pup, named Nate, had been in a shelter for four months, until the Beagle Freedom Project got involved. They placed him with a foster family who understands how to nurture a dog with a history of living in a laboratory. Nate’s goofball personality started to shine through since he has been in rehabilitative care with his foster family. The really pawesome news

Dogs Who Comforted Each Other On Meat Farm Look For A Family Together.

These two dogs gave each other comfort in the midst of the most horrifying circumstance: life in a Korean dog meat farm.  Cedric and Mendy, as they'd later be named, were found on the meat farm earlier this year living in a crowded kennel where their owners didn't even provide them with regular water. They shared a cage hardly big enough for the two of them, side by side with dozens of other caged dogs. When rescuers arrived, the friends jumped up on their cage to greet the team. Compared to the other 169 dogs at the farm, these two stood out as particularly sociable. That made the job of preparing the two for life as pets much easier for Rebecca Burton, vice president of direct animal care & lifesaving partnerships at St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in New Jersey.
